Fractional CTO / CPO · Brussels & remote

An experienced CTO/CPO inside your company, one to two days a week.

Senior technology and product leadership, without the full-time hire.

For SMEs and mid-size companies of 10 to 500 people that feel technology holding their growth back instead of carrying it: decisions postponed, vendors without a pilot, a product without a course.

Exploratory · no strings attached

What I take on

Strategic framing

Where your company's technology goes over the next five years, and where to start. The vision, then the trajectory.

Architecture

Foundations that last: which systems, how they talk to each other, what to build and what to buy.

Trade-offs

The decisions that commit you: budgets, priorities, vendors, debt. Settled with you, in business language.

Product

Roadmap, prioritization, pricing: the product thought of as a whole, not as a list of features.

Team & vendors

Steering your developers and vendors, hiring the right profiles, growing the people already in place.

AI, in its rightful place

AI placed on order, not on chaos: the use cases that pay off, without technology religion.

The format

One to two days a week, over 3 to 6 renewable months, on site or remote. A commitment structured into my calendar, not squeezed into spare corners: the agreed days are reserved for you.

On budget: a fraction of the cost of a full-time C-level, with no employer charges and no recruitment. And when extra hands are needed beyond the brain, the KERN-IT team takes over the development.

I speak three languages: business, technology and people. That is exactly what you expect from a part-time C-level.

F·03

How it starts

01

Twenty minutes

An exploratory conversation, no strings attached: your situation, your tools, what slows you down. We see whether the role makes sense for you.

02

Short framing

A few days to map the current state, the priorities and the format: days per week, duration, goals for the first three months.

03

Kick-off

I join the team, the reserved days begin. First trade-offs settled within weeks, not after six months.

Three questions I often get

How much does a fractional CTO cost?

A fraction of the cost of a full-time C-level: you pay for one to two days a week, with no employer charges, no recruitment, no long notice period. The exact budget depends on the format, and is set during the framing stage, after the exploratory conversation.

Will you really have time for us?

Yes: a fractional mandate is structured into my calendar as a recurring commitment, not squeezed into spare corners. The agreed days are reserved for you, on site or remote, and the KERN-IT team steps in whenever extra hands are needed.

We already have an IT manager, why a fractional CTO?

An IT manager keeps the existing systems running; a fractional CTO/CPO carries the strategy: which architecture for the next five years, build or buy, where AI fits, how to grow the team. The two roles complement each other, they do not compete.

For everything else: my full profile, how I work and what I write on the home page.

Twenty minutes to see whether the role makes sense for you.
